Tommy Stewart’s Dyerwulf Announces Latest Single “Kept Pain Busy” Inspired By Norman Bates, Buffalo Bill, and Ed Gein From The Upcoming EP ‘Fyrewulf One’

Tommy Stewart’s Dyerwulf, the formidable doom metal duo from Atlanta, Georgia, is excited to announce the release of their latest EP, Fyrewulf One. Set to drop on September 13, 2024, this eagerly awaited record is poised to captivate fans of Year of the Cobra, St. Vitus, and The Obsessed.

The band, featuring drummer Dennis Reid and bassist/vocalist Tommy Stewart—who is also known for his work with Hallows Eve and as the producer and owner of Black Doomba Records—has been a stalwart in the doom metal scene since their debut in 2016. Tommy Stewart’s Dyerwulf has relentlessly toured the USA, sharing stages with iconic acts like COC, Pentagram, The Skull, The Obsessed, and Year of the Cobra. Their powerful live performances have also graced festivals such as Maryland Doom Fest 2021 and Snowblind Festival 2022, with new shows already lined up for 2024 and 2025.

Fyrewulf One comprises four potent tracks available in both vinyl EP and digital formats. This release is the first installment of a two-EP concept project, with Fyrewulf Two slated for release in 2025, culminating in a complete album spread across these parts. The band is currently in a prolific phase of writing and recording, with plans to release several singles and videos leading up to the full Fyrewulf project.

Tommy Stewart’s Dyerwulf’s discography features an impressive array of singles, an EP, and two full albums, the latest being Doomsday Deferred (2021). Their recent single, a cover of Bloodrock’s “Melvin Laid an Egg,” featuring guest drummer Patrick Salerno from Grave Next Door, showcases their collaborative spirit and dedication to creating exceptional doom metal music.

The band’s latest single, “Kept Pain Busy,” delves into dark, introspective themes, exploring the secrets we all harbor and the chilling notion of being haunted by our past actions. With lyrics inspired by figures like Norman Bates, Buffalo Bill, and Ed Gein, the song offers a thought-provoking look at the darker aspects of human nature.
