Bio
PlusMinusZero hails from Helsinki and was founded in 2025. Although the band is young, its members have known each other for a long time. When PlusMinusZero was formed by dr. sundström (guitar) and iledelay (bass) in the fall of 2025, it didn’t take long before Pete joined as vocalist and Janne on drums. Both were already familiar to the founding duo from previous projects.
What brought the group back together was a constant desire to play. That desire has led them through different musical styles and into various musical paths. In the early 2000s, the same group of friends released three full-length albums, and during that time they toured steadily across Finland with their previous band. They became familiar with everything from small bars to the biggest festivals of the time. Their live activity was further boosted by solid radio airplay and TV appearances. However, this chapter came to an end around 2005 when that lineup disbanded.
Music never stopped for any of them, but continued driven by that same original passion. Dr. sundström and iledelay kept playing together, exploring different styles and experimenting with various lineups. In 2010, they released a full-length album with a new band. The lead single from that Finnish-language album received good attention on TV, and that project laid the foundation for PlusMinusZero. Vocalists and drummers changed along the way, but the core duo remained.
Dr. sundström and iledelay began asking themselves a bigger question about their desire to play, and that question increasingly guided their music back to its roots — a love for heavy and metal that first struck in their youth. Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Dio, Helloween, Scorpions, and all the other bands familiar from the back patches of denim jackets showed the way. Metal was, and still is, the answer.
In the summer of 2025, PlusMinusZero consisted of dr. sundström, iledelay, and just a name. But it wasn’t meant to stay that way, and as with all great things, it took a couple of big coincidences. Those coincidences were Pete and Janne — both free from their own projects and ready to dive into the world of metal. Since the fall of 2025, PlusMinusZero has been independently recording and mixing their upcoming material. Expect catchy songs built on a strong foundation and years of experience — ready to deliver something new and their very best to everyone!
